I enjoyed several of the tools; however, my favorite is the making of a video. I usually have my students work in groups to create their own interpretation of a fairy tale in play form. The students conclude the project by performing the play for their peers. I would like to take it one step further this year and have the students create a video to share on their blog.
I have been somewhat apprehensive in the past with students using the internet. Primarily because I believe that students can easily break the technology code of conduct even with close monitoring. However, I think it's time to trust students and encourage the extensive use of technology in the classroom.
Let it suffice to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much easier the Tools program became as I explored new steps. School will be great fun this coming year!
